Academy Awards 2016: Best Animated Feature Nominee Predictions

The award season is beginning to ramp up as we head into the Holiday. As such, Oscar buzz is beginning to bubble up. Which animated films will get the nomination for best animated feature? Here are my predictions:

Nominees:

  • Inside Out
  • Anomalisa
  • Shaun the Sheep Movie
  • The Peanuts Movie
  • When Marnie Was There

Dark Horses:

  • The Good Dinosaur
  • Minions
  • The Prophet

The real question with this race is whether When Marnie Was There or The Good Dinosaur will get a nomination. Inside Out and Anomalisa are the category favorites, with one of them almost certain to win. Shaun the Sheep and The Peanuts Movie have gotten rave reviews. That leaves a battle between Studio Ghibli and Pixar for the final spot.
