The Nominees:
- Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Nicolas Glacobone, Alexander Dinelaris Jr., and Armando Bo — Birdman
- Richard Linklater — Boyhood
- E. Max Frye and Dan Futterman — Foxcatcher
- Wes Anderson — The Grand Budapest Hotel

Will Win: Birdman
Could Win: The Grand Budapest Hotel
Should Win: The Grand Budapest Hotel
This is a toss up. I give the edge to Birdman only because it won the Golden Globe and the Critics Choice Award. It’s a great script, certainly, and Birdman is one of my favorites of 2014. However, Wes Anderson’s intricate script is truly great. Sure, we can talk about voice-over as a crutch to good screenwriting, but Jude Law’s voice-over has some awesome moments that can’t be ignored. Personally, I would like to see Anderson win this one, but I think the odds are in Birdman’s favor.
