Oscars 2017. Best Original Song. So…which La La Land is going to win?

Best Original Song:

• “Audition (The Fools Who Dream)” – La La Land
• “Can’t Stop the Feeling” – Trolls
• “City of Stars” – La La Land
• “The Empty Chair” – Jim: The James Foley Story
• “How Far I’ll Go” – Moana

Will Win: “City of Stars” – La La Land

Could Win: “Audition (The Fools Who Dream)” – La La Land

Dark Horse: “How Far I’ll Go”

 

I mean, it’s a musical. How could it not win? “City of Stars” is the “single” of La La Land, so to speak; it’s winning awards elsewhere. So give that one the edge over “Audition” (although, personally I think it is a better song).

The music in Moana is also quite great. “How Far I’ll Go” isn’t out of the running, but the Academy will probably give La La Land its due. There’s no splitting the vote here.
