This weekend sees the new release of the Emma Watson-Tom Hanks thriller The Circle, based on the novel by Dave Eggers, and How to Be A Latin Lover, a comedy directed by Ken Marino and starring Eugenio Derbez and Salma Hayek.
Additionally, Bollywood sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion will be looking to make a similar smash to its predecessor. According to Box Office Mojo, the first film grossed $3.5 million in its opening weekend, and its sequel has already pulled in an estimated $2.5 million in Thursday night previews.
Box Office Predictions: Weekend of 4/28
- The Fate of the Furious – $19.5 million
- The Circle– $12 million
- Baahubali 2: The Conclusion – $9 million
- Boss Baby – $8.5 million
- Beauty and the Beast – $5.5 million
The Fate of the Furious will continue its April onslaught this weekend with little in the way of newfound competition. How To Be A Latin Lover will fall just shy of the top five, likely picking up the sixth or seven spot with its 1,000+ theater release size.
Baahubali 2‘s monster Thursday will likely translate into a great opening, but The Circle has it on U.S. marketing and overall theater count.
Next week will helm the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which will almost certainly usurp Fate of the Furious to take the number one spot.
