Weekend Box Office Predictions: 5/13 – 5/15

Another May weekend, but it doesn’t quite feel like Summer yet. At least, not in terms of the Summer movie season. May 13 sees the release of two new films in wide release: Money Monster and The Darkness. It is also the second weekend of Marvel Studios newest behemoth, Captain America: Civil War, so those new movies are likely to be left in the dust.

That said, both new releases sport stars in their cast, particularly Money Monster, which stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and it is directed by Jodie Foster. The Darkness is led by Continue reading Weekend Box Office Predictions: 5/13 – 5/15

Weekend Box Office Predictions: 5/6 – 5/8

This weekend’s domestic box office is not very hard to predict in terms of the number one spot. Captain America: Civil War will undoubtedly take the premier slot in its opening weekend. The real question, then, is what films will remain in the top five, and how far will they drop off.

The Jungle Book’s healthy box office run will keep it at number two. After that, it’s rather up in the air. With no new releases this weekend aside from Captain AmericaKeanuMother’s Day, and Huntsman: Winter’s War will Continue reading Weekend Box Office Predictions: 5/6 – 5/8

2016 Summer Box Office Predictions

Last year, I took part in a game of Summer box office predictions. The end result was that I won a competition at Trivia Club with said predictions, which was a huge surprise because I didn’t even get the number one film correct. Thanks, Trivia Club!

Weekend Box Office Predictions: 4/22/2016

This weekend sees just one wide domestic release: The Huntsman: Winter’s War, the sequel to the critically middling but financially successful Snow White and the Huntsman. This first installment won its opening weekend bout with a healthy $56.2 million, but I have a feeling this is the sequel no one asked for. With tepid reviews and healthy runs from films already in theaters, I don’t see The Huntsman taking the top spot in its opening weekend.

Instead, we will likely see  Continue reading Weekend Box Office Predictions: 4/22/2016

New Captain America: Civil War Trailer is a Super Bowl of its Own

The new Captain America: Civil War trailer appearing during the Super Bowl is a short, 45 second teaser, but it is packed with enough juicy Marvel goodness to be picked apart.

Most eye grabbing is a gadget strapped onto Tony Stark which blocks a bullet coming from Bucky Barnes gun.

Suicide Squad (2016) Trailer 2 Review

Recently, the new Suicide Squad trailer dropped. And, I have some thoughts.

To begin, I’ll say that the first Suicide Squad trailer, which came out of Comic Con, didn’t do it for me. I simply was not excited to see this movie from the trailer alone.

This new trailer changed that. I did a Continue reading Suicide Squad (2016) Trailer 2 Review
